Annie Merle Washington

Mrs. Annie Merle Washington departed this life on Wednesday November 4, 2015. She was 72.      Mrs. Annie Merle Washington was born on February 14, 1943 in Pansey, Alabama to the late Henry Anderson and Linda Fryer. She was raised by "Ms. Sweetie". She's a 1965 graduate from Ashford Color School. Mrs. Washington move to New York to continue her education. Years after she moved to Wilmington, Delaware to begin working in the Red Clay School District. As a part-time worker at DuPont she met her loving husband of 20 years Mr. Ernest Washington Sr. After about 40 years in Delaware she moved back to Pansey, AL.      Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Washington Sr., her brothers Samuel Jack Johnson and Henry "Pappy" Anderson Jr., her sisters Virginia Keys and Ruth Davis. She is survived by her two sons: Ernest Washington Jr. and Ashantee Washington; her grandchildren: Brittany Talib, Ny'air Washington, Ernest Washington III, Ernique Washington, Kinsley Thornton; her brother Herbert Johnson; her sisters: Mildred Johnson and Queen Ewar, and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves her companion of many years Mr. Bill Martin.      Funeral service will be Saturday November 14, 2015 at Philadelphia Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M.with Dr. W.J. Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
