Carl Adonis Powell Jr.

Carl Adonis “CJ” Powell was born April 6, 1984 in Odessa, Texas to Darlene Evans and Carl Adonis Powell Sr. CJ was called home to be with his creator October 26, 2024.

CJ attended Ashford High School where he played in the band and played wide receiver on the football team. The Dallas Cowboys was his favorite NFL team. He loved everything about Texas to a point he got a belt made with the state logo and would not part from it. Any shade of blue was his favorite color, now he can enjoy every moment of it in the sky looking over us. CJ was an intelligent young man and the most immaculate penmanship. Every letter and phone call started with “What It Do?”

CJ is preceded in death by his big mama Nettie B. Ricks; grandparents Arthur Lee Powell and Homerzell Powell; aunt, Teresa Winfield; uncles, Laron Powell and Dustin Powell; his grand uncle, John Powell and a cousin, Tammy Carroll

He leaves to cherish his memories to his parents: mother, Darlene Evans; father, Carl A. Powell Sr.; his wife, Rosalyn Powell of 12 years; daughter, Amozaneaq Green; brother, Wade Cox; sister Cassandra Cox; uncle, Arthur Powell, Bertram Powell; two special cousins, Allen and Lashonda; a host of cousins, Terry Powell, Gary Powell and John Powell; he is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

CJ is loved by all his family and friends from Texas to Alabama.
