Celia Johnson Smith

Celia Smith, a beloved mother and grandmother passed on August 12, 2024 in Dothan Alabama at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Celia Johnson Smith was born February 2, 1927 in Barbour COunty, Clio, Alabama to the late Mr. R. B. Johnson and Mrs. Bertha McKinney Johnson.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age beginning at Clio Baptist Church and later United with Sardis Missionary Baptist Church.

She was joined in union with the late Mr. Elijah Smith on August 1, 1945 and to this union, nine children were born, Lewis Ray Smith, Nettie Miller, Annie Shiver, Lillian Rivers, Lessie Glanton, Bobby (Rosie) Smith, Larry (Rose) Smith and twins, Tony and Ronnie Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 52 years, Elijah Smith, sons; Tony, Ronnie and Bobby Smith; brothers, Willie Johnson, K. C. Johnson, R. Q. Johnson, Kermit Johnson, Danny Johnson, J. C. Johnson, Orie Johnson and one sister, Annie Lee Stephens.

She leaves to cherish her memories, six loving children, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, one sister in law, Easer Dell Smith and a host of nieces and nephews; two special nieces, Shirley Arrington and Addie Powe
