Mr. Connell White of Slocomb passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at a local hospital following an extended illness. His family was by his side as he drifted off to be with the Lord.     Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Christian Home Church of Christ in Wicksburg, AL with Minister Mark Turner officiating.     The family will be receiving friends at Unity Funeral Home in Dothan from 4-6 P.M. on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Flowers will be accepted.     Connell was born on September 25, 1962 in Geneva County Hartford, AL to Edna and Azell White. He grew up in Slocomb and attended Slocomb Schools. He was employed at Nate's Oyster Bar and Grill in Slocomb until becoming disabled. He was a faithful member of County Line Baptist Church in Slocomb and later moved his membership to Christian Home Church of Christ in Wicksburg. Connell enjoyed farming, working with his hands, spending time with family and friends, fishing, and was a loyal fan of Alabama Crimson Tide.     Connell is preceded in death by his brother, Isaac White and grandparents; Era Mae Cotton, Josh Miller, Carey and Satchie Bell White.      Survivors include: his mother, Edna White, father, Azell White; two sisters, Annie B. White, Dianne Brown, two bothers: Benjamin White and Billy E. White; Fiancée, Mary Brown and children; (Shirlanders McGriff (Brian), Chainise Reynolds (Brian),Jasper Brown, Artica Solomon, Eddie Rice, Timothy Rice, Cena Rice, and Keturah Brown) and nine grandchildren; three nieces: (Delia and Dana White, and Princess Thomas) two nephews: (Tony White and Rashad Thomas); very special Aunt (Josephine Robinson) and close family friend, Nathan Mathis and Mark Turner; a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
