Deacon Frank Reese born June 6, 1938 in Dothan, AL and departed on August 20, 2020 at Southeast Health Medical Center. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at New Maranda Baptist Church (1221 W.A.G.F. Rd, Dothan, AL).
Deacon Reese finished Ashford Colored High School before continuing his education at Alabama State University where he graduated in 1963. He furthered his education and earned a Master's Degree and AA Degree in Guidance Counseling. A nurturing and caring person, he started life fulfilling dreams of giving back to his siblings, friends, and to his community. Mr. Reese is remembered and respected by many in Dothan as a beloved educator, math teacher, and counselor at Northview High School. He retired in 2003 after serving Dothan City Schools for more than 37 years. Frank received numerous awards but most proudest of his family and serving as a deacon for more than 35 years at New Maranda Baptist Church. He often served as a mentor and friend in his community as well. He was also a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Greek Fraternity. Frank met and married Erece Stallworth-Reese in 1967.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Zula Reese; a brother, Clyde Reese; two sisters: Bernice Minton and Betty Berry.
He leaves to cherish his memory a caring wife, Erece Reese; a daughter, Stephanie Reese; two sons: Derrick (Bridget) Reese and Chadwick (Patrice) Reese; three grandsons: Ivan, Evan, and Ashton; four granddaughters: Brea, Courtney, Amber, and Dana; two great grandchildren; five sisters; two brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends.
