Gladys Johnson

Obituary

Gladys Johnson was born on May 10, 1944 in Blakely, Georgia to the late James Willis and Alberta Dawson. She accepted Christ at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, AL. Gladys was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

On Sunday, February 17, she was called home to rest from the Southeast Health.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Johnson; father, James Willis and mother Alberta Dawson; siblings: John Allen, Andrew Dawson, Elouise Dawson, Alvester Davis, and Timothy Dawson; one son, Andy Dawson.

She leaves to cherish her memories seven loving children: Joyce Dawson of Columbia, AL, Louie (Yvette) Dawson of Gordon, AL, Dawson (Monica) Johnson of Tallassee, AL, Patricia Lee of Avon, AL, Cassandra Johnson of Kinsey, AL, Deion Johnson and Roderick Johnson of Columbia, AL; two sisters: Retha Sparrow of Blakely, GA and Corene Rowells of Miami, FL; one brother, Roy Dawson of Blakely, GA; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special neighbors: Annie Bell West, Annie Jean Wymes, and AL Grace. Two close friends: Gatsie Dawson and Frankie Lee Caldwell.
