The Lord called his Son Hubert Floyd home on Sunday, November 6, 2011 in the Hartford Health Care Center in Hartford, Alabama. Reposing at Unity Funeral Home, 1215 Leona Street, Dothan, Alabama. Visitation will be Today, November 11, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, November 12th at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, Headland, Alabama, with Pastor Delvick McKay officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Unity Funeral Home. Hubert was born November 23, 1938 in Headland (Henry County), Alabama to the late Inez and Buford Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a lifelong area resident of Houston County. He was an awesome father, loving brother, and uncle. He was an avid eighteen wheeler truck driver employed by KC Transport, Newton, AL. During his life long driving he received numerous awards for Value Driven Driving, never receiving a citation though he was somewhat handicapped. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tullis Floyd; and a sister, Mary Alice Floyd Thomas. He is survived by two daughters; Captain Lakesha L. Lee, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Alisha Callins, Orange, New Jersey; also leaving behind one sister: Mae Floyd-Hudgens, Dothan, AL; four brothers, James Floyd (Carolyn), Robert Floyd, Jerry Floyd, all of Dothan, AL and Charles Floyd, Montgomery, AL; also a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
