Lisa Ann Glass, 60, formerly of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on June 20, 2023 at Flowers Hospital in
Dothan, Alabama. Lisa was born on August 29, 1962, in Peoria, Illinois, and graduated from Pekin
Community High School in the Class of 1980.
Lisa was a true cat lady, and her love for felines was no secret. She was always taking in stray kittens and
giving them a perfect home. Lisa also had a passion for the beach, where she loved to soak up the sun
and walk along the shores of the ocean with her youngest daughter, Lauren. Lisa's favorite color was
purple, and she was always fighting with her sister Linda over who got to be the purple playing piece in
Trivial Pursuit during family gatherings. This tradition, along with the love of purple, continued with her
oldest daughter Melissa.
Lisa's taste in music was classic. She loved everything from Keith Urban to Jason Aldean to Brooks &
Dunn. Her favorite song was “Neon Moon; by Brooks & Dunn, even though it always made her cry.
Lisa is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Glass-Gonzales (Adrian) of Pekin, IL, and Lauren Turner
(Logan) of Decatur, TN, and her five granddaughters, Riley, Mila, Nora, Paisley, and Amelia. These five
girls all called her Mimi. Also surviving are her nieces Michelle Jones and Kimberly Esser.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Betty Washburn, her brothers Larry Washburn and
Loren Washburn, her sister Linda Pennington, and her nephew Michael Shaw.
Lisa's services are to be determined at a later date, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that
contributions be made to TAPS No Kill Animal Shelter in Pekin, Illinois.
