Marquise L Smith

Marquise Smith was born on September 27, 1987 in Orange, New Jersey at Orange Memorial Hospital to Harry L. Smith and the late Marceia Addison.

When Marquise was three years old he was relocated to Anchorage, Alaska. In February 1995, Marquise reunited with his father; Harry L. Smith and settled in Dothan, Alabama.

He graduated from Northview High School in Dothan, AL in 2007. He worked at South East Alabama Medical Center until he could no longer work.

Marquise accepted Christ at an early age, and he was baptized in Jesus name. He was a faithful member at his parents church Emmanuel Temple Community Apostolic Church where his love and gift for music thrived. He was very skillful and anointed on the keyboard and drums which opened doors to allow him to train future musicians and later become the "Minister of Music" at Emmanuel Temple.

Marquise was married to Carlotta Ellington and rthrough this union they had two sons: Marquise Jr. and Jace.

Years later Marquise met Shaniqua Cameron and through their bond of love he took on her two daughters: Elaina and Arielle as his own and together the had one son< Micah.

He loved spending time with his family, whether it was taking a trip out of town, watching movies, or eating out. The love that he had was unmeasurable. Marquise was the true definition of a "Family Man".

Marquise loved to laugh and his church family knew he had a love for food. One thing for sure after church you could count on him asking some of the Saints "What you cooking today?" He always knew that in response he would get back a smile, laugh, and sometimes he would get a What you want to eat! Marquise sense of humor will forever live on through all those he touched in some way shape form or fashion.

Marquise was preceded in death by his mother, Marceia Addison; grandparents: Claude and Margaret Mayo, Johnny and Bernice Smith, Alberta Roberson, and uncle, Fredrick Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories his five children: Marquise Jr., Elaina, Jace, Arielle, and Micah; his parents: Apostle Harry L. Smith and First Lady Sandra E. Smith; a special grandmother, Carol Ann Lute; four sisters: Phanique Roberson of Dorado, Puerto Rico, Turajill (Jarvis) Dean of Montgomery, AL, Asia Addison of South Jersey, and Kameisha Smith of Prattville, AL; two brothers: Mikolas (Tiffany) Roberson of Level Plains, AL and Paris Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; five nieces, four nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Two very special friends: Jason Smith and Trevon McNealy.
