Mr. Edward Lee Sistrunk

Edward Lee Sistrunk was born March 28, 1944, to Jessie James Sistrunk and Cora Bell Martin, in Houston County, AL.

Graduated from Carver High School on Lake St., Dothan, AL, at the time attended school here, schools were not segregated yet, so this was a Colored school. After graduation, Edward went to Ohio, where he lived for an extended time, and later to New York, until his parents became ill and moved back to Alabama. After moving back to Alabama, Edward was a carpenter by trade and had his own business (ELS Homes and Remodeling), but his favorite was grilling for everyone and church.

Preceded in death- Father- Jessie James Sistrunk, Mother-Cora Bell Martin-Sistrunk, Brother- Jessie James Jr., Sisters- Alberta, Betty, and Bernice. Nephews-Marion (Peaches) Ward, Anthony Thompson, Nieces- Earnestine Salter, and Everlene Thompson. Granddaughter- Nikeya Tra’Lonia Brown.
