Gregory Quent Miller was born on April 11, 1959 to the late Shelley Porter and Luvenia Miller. He departed this life and went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
Gregory was a great man who wore many hats. He was a military man, a great chef, a wonderful father, son, husband, brother, nephew, and grandson. Greg or “G” as some would call him attended Dothan High School. Afterwards, he chose to serve his country at a young age, by way of Army Reserve which makes us all proud today. Gregory had three beautiful daughters throughout his life. The oldest of the three, Shani Marie, from his first marriage to Vikki Miller and Latona Tameka and Latonya Michelle from his second marriage to Freddie Miller. He taught all of his girls how to cook, from many years of experience as a chef, working at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center. One thing about Greg that everyone knew was that he loved his daughters. He was a man of love and a man of kindness. After his work as a chef, he was always willing to work hard by undertaking handiwork with his right hand man and loving brother Max. They had an unbreakable bond. His hard work was shown all throughout his life and Greg epitomized the word “diligence”. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and was proud to let everyone know “These are my grandbabies”! This world will miss his bright soul. We are saddened by Greg’s passing but overjoyed at the thought of him reuniting with his beloved mother Luvenia again.
He was preceded by his father, Shelley Porter; his mother, Luvenia Miller.
He leaves cherish his precious memories his three daughters: Shani Miller, Latona (Marion) Walker and Latonya (Ricky) Collins; eleven grandchildren: Tiwian, Alaysha, Kahlia, Akynlee, Moses, Ricky Jr., Kingslin, Kamdin, Levi, Olivia, and Samiya; seven siblings: Max (Carolyn) Parrish of Cowarts, AL, Carl Miller of Columbia, AL, Bruce (Bridgette) Parrish of Lawrenceville, GA, Timmie (Debbie) Anthony of Decatur, AL, Jimmy (Ruby) Porter of Dothan, AL, Donald (Tabetha) Porter, and Erick Porter of Detroit, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
