Obituary
“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” Psalm 23:3
Ira Emmanuel Simmons was born August 2, 1983. He was born on that date and delivered to us when he was five months old. God knew the desires of our hearts so we named him Emmanuel meaning “God with us.” He was raised in a loving Christian home.
Emmanuel was a loving son, a devoted father to his children and a joy to his siblings. Emmanuel always had a thirst for God. He knew and tasted the goodness of the Lord. After completing high school, Emmanuel attended ASU then decided to enlist in the U.S. Navy for 5 years. He was a disabled veteran and worked with the VA Administration as claims specialist in Virginia and Georgia. Emmanuel loved people unconditionally and assisted many in obtaining VA entitlements. Emmanuel leaves so many HAPPY memories with those who knew him. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by loving parents Joyce and Ira. His memories will forever be cherished by his five children Isaiah Jerome, Joshua Jayden, Kaylie Elizabeth & Kyle Faith, and Iman Hassan. Seven brothers and sisters: Brandon Trawick, Dothan, AL: Dr. Lya (Eddie) Snell, McDonough, GA; Albert Christopher (Kimberley) Whiting, Wetumpka, AL; Peirie Parrish, Dothan, AL; and Jasmine (Leonard) Works, El Paso, TX.
