A legend was born named Linton C. McIntyre in Ashford, Alabama to Clinton and Minnie Mae McIntyre (both deceased) in the year of 1943. He attended Ashford Elementary and Ashford High School. After school he married Gwendolyn Bryant (deceased), who later became Gwendolyn Foster, the daughter of Edward and Mary Jane Bryant (both deceased) and was married for 30 plus years. He later formed a special relationship with Cassandra Glover for 10 plus years and a special sister-in-law, Johnetta Beacham. He was a member of St. Paul Church of God in Christ, Ashford, Al, where he received the Lord as his Savior at an early age.
They had eight children, Minnie McIntyre, two brothers and a sister passed at birth, David Lee McIntyre (deceased), Charles McIntyre, Gwendolyn McIntyre, and Donald Ray McIntyre. Linton was the eldest brother of twelve siblings, Monroe McIntyre (deceased), Robert Earl McIntyre (deceased), Jessie and James McIntyre (deceased), Walter McIntyre, Deloris Rabb, Jean McIntyre, Tommy McIntyre, Cassandra Grimsley, and Charles McIntyre.
Linton aka “Dog” was a skilled Electrician and Plummer. He built a legacy and a rapport in the Dothan community of servitude. Linton was loved and respected by many. Linton was a teacher to many, he believed if you teach them, and they would be empowered to face the challenges put before them. Linton loved life and loved people. Linton was also a great soul food cook; his favorite food to cook was collard green and hot water corn bread, and His cakes were prize winning.
Linton was the grandfather of eight: Tyrone (6), Serena (4), Rainy, Haywood (2), India (4), Brandon (1), Dashawn (2), and Dontavious (2) that’s known. He was the great grandfather of thirty great grands and an uncle to a whole host of nieces (great) and nephews (great).
