Deacon Ronald “Ronnie” Barnes
God called home one of his faithful servant. Ronald Barnes was born July 13, 1959 in Dothan Alabama to the late Isaac and Annie Lou Cox Barnes. He was the youngest of three siblings. Ronald transitioned from this life at his home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
Ronald attended Dothan High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and spent four years serving his country. He was employed at Dunbarton Corporation for 15 years and he also worked at Southeast Health.
Ronald accepted the Lord at an early age; joining Adam Street Church/Greater Beulah Baptist Church, Dothan Alabama. He would later join, Evangelical Faith Vision Ministries, Albany Georgia under the leadership of Apostle Felix Revills. Ronald was a faithful and dedicated member. Later in his walk with Christ, he was ordained as a deacon and served faithfully.
Ronald met his lovely wife, Vinnie (Georgia Peach) while attending church and they later united in marriage on February 13, 2010.
Ronald was a quite pillar of strength and courage for his family, friends and all who knew him. He loved God, his family and friends and never met a stranger. He will be remembered as a loving person with a big heart, loud voice, great sense of humor and a smile that could light up any room.
Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents Ira and Bunnie Barnes; Fletcher and Lillie B Foster Cox; niece Brittany Barnes
Deacon Ronald Barnes leaves to cherish his memories and love, his devoted wife, Vinnie Peterson Barnes; son: Timothy “Bernard” (Tameka) Barnes; Step children: Chris (Deanna) Brooks; Lawana Jackson; Reginald Jackson; Shauntane (Adrian) Duncan; Quinton (DeAndrea) Peterson Brothers: Isaac Barnes; Bobby (Priscilla) Barnes; Aunts: Catherine Whitted, Betty Shipman, Minnie P. Johnson, Pearl (James) Mosbley Uncles: James (Sarah) Cox, Ira (Vernia) Cox; Brother in laws: Jessie (Derrell) Jones; Bennie Jones; Wille Brooks; Leroy(Edna) Brooks; Don Brooks; Calvin (Tanja) Brooks ;Sister-in-laws Mary Bowman; Sharon Wyartt; Sandra Bussey; Detra (Arlington) Neely; fifteen grandkids; eleven and half great grands; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
