Wilbert Glanton Sr. was born June 30, 1932 to the late Mr. Lois and Mrs. Lillie Glanton in Barbour County, Alabama. He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church for many years and later moved his membership to Friendship Freewill Baptist Church where he served faithfully in several roles until his health began to fail.
On April 19, 2021, he was called to rest.
He was preceded in death by his children’s mother, Nellie Pearl Feaggins Glanton; daughters: Vivian Lashaye Glanton, Mae Osia Rashad; son, James Works; brothers: Willie Glanton, Rev. M.C. Glanton and Dan Glanton Sr.; sisters: Lessie Johnson, Emma Gibbs, Lillie Harris, Jimmie Lee Davis, and Jessie Mae McNealey; one grandson, Brett Avery Glanton.
He leaves to cherish and celebrate his memories six children: Lillie Pearl Glanton, Wilbert Glanton Jr., Charles (Debra) Glanton of Jacksonville, FL, Suvena (Henry) Cochran, Danny (Melody) Knight, and Keanna (Kenneth) Blackmon of Ft. Jackson, S.C.; twenty-three grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; two sisters-in-law: Mattie Glanton and Eva Jewel Glanton as well as a host if nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
