Beatrice Thomas Henry received the precious gift of life on March 26, 1939 in Louisville, Alabama. She was the daughter of Henry (Diego) and Ethel Morrell Thomas. Her family moved to Dothan, Alabama in 1958, where she met the love of her life, Oliver Henry Jr. Oliver and Beatrice united in Holy Matrimony on July 17, 1959. Oliver and Beatrice gave life to eight beautiful children. Together they raised them in the ways of the Lord. In her early years, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Beatrice was a member of Seventh United Holiness Church. After weekly bible studies in their home, Beatrice nourished everyone with her wonderful cooking. Beatrice also loved singing gospel songs to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling to Barbour County to see her family. Beatrice ’s greatest passion was cooking. Not only did she bless her family with her amazing cooking, but she also shared her cooking with the community. Through out the community she was known as “Grandma Bea” Beatrice was one of the best cooks at the square cafeteria for over 20 years. She worked at First United Methodist Church for 15 years. Before she retired, Beatrice opened her own restaurant known as “Bea ’s Country Kitchen. ” She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Oliver Henry III; a granddaughter, Charlotte Patrice Henry; seven siblings: Lela Bell Thomas, Minnie L. McClendon, Ada Pearl Stewart, Doris Kennedy, Henry, James, and Cleveland Thomas. Her legacy will live on through her survivors four daughters: Ernestine R. Johnson, Gloria (Karey) Godwin, Rhonda (Herman) Ardis all of Dothan, AL, and Tammy Hill of Atlanta, GA; three sons: Marcus, Ronnie, and Michael (Martha) Henry all of Dothan, AL; nineteen grandchildren, fifty -two great grandchildren; a special sister -in -law, Earline (Vernon) Bharath of Miami, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a special friend, Christine Chapman
