Ms. Elemta Hudspeth Boatwright was born on December 26, 1943, in Henry County, Al. to the late Dawkin and Anna Hudspeth the fifth child of sixteen children. She attended Headland High School.
Elmeta was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and never turned her back on anyone who needed her. She became a mother and grandmother to many outside of her own family who she loved and treated just as her own. One thing about her she was beautiful inside and out and loved to dance and would dance by herself too.
Elmeta was a member of New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where the shepherd of the flock is Pastor Howard Valentine. She loved her pastor and her church family very much. She remained a faithful member until her health fell. Not able to go every Sunday she still kept her eyes on the prize “JESUS”.
Elmeta was preceded in death by her husband: Allen Ray Boatwright Sr., one son; Anthony (Ant) Glanton, three grandchildren, four sisters, and five brothers.
Elmeta leaves to cherish her precious memories her children: Patricia (James) Thomas, David Glanton, Jacquelyn Boatwright, Campbell (Natalie) Hudspeth, Kimberly (“Prince”) Dawsey ,Clecia (Jamelle) Miller, Paula Boatwright, John Boatwright, Allen Ray Boatwright Jr., Doug (Mia )Boatwright, fourteen grandchildren, forty one greatgrandchildren, two great great children, five sisters, one brother, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
