We pause today to pay tribute to Sister Kimberly LaShawn Crawford.
Kim was born on May 23, 1974 to Robbie Crawford and John Albert Jones Sr. She was baptized at a very young age at St. Paul A.M.E. Church. She was a member of the Jr Choir, Usher Board, Young Peoples Department, and Women Progressive Board.
Whether everybody knew it or not she was a praying person. Bringing everyone that she knew that wanted or needed prayer to St. Paul’s alter while she did her work at the church that she was employed to do.
She was preceded in death by one child baby A.K. Rivers; her mother, Robbie Crawford; her father, 1st Sgt. John Albert Jones; grandmother, Maebelle Crawford; great grandparents, Georgia and Lunnie Martin; uncles: Robert Jones, Clement James Thomas, and Ruben Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories three uncles: Dannie (Gloria) Knox of Ozark, AL, Alonzo (Annie) Jones, Thomas (Belinda) Jones of Kileen, TX and Ike Mathews of Opelika, AL; cousins: Donnie (Deirdre) Ware, Sherita (Sedrick) Reynolds, Daniel Stewart, Antonio Maurice (Della) Sistrunk, Bobby F. Berry, Rhonda Berry, Lizear (Labron) Tazewell, Lavada (Christopher) McLeod, Kisha Moody and Nana Henry. Her son by another mother, Quamell Crittendon, Linda Snell who she consider another mother. Special friends “The Living Legends:” Sherita Reynolds, Tonya Mixon, Laura Wilson, Monica Rivers, Latoya Patton, Murshell McLeod and a host of other cousins and special friends.
