Linda Dianne (Mama Dee) Daniels, was born to the late Dorothy L.Thomas and Roger Porter. Dianne was raised also by her aunt and her uncle, the late Willis and Flozell Grant. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Adam Street Baptist Church; now Greater Beulah Baptist Church, currently under the leadership of Reverend Darryl Roberts. Dianne was a faithful member until her death. During the course of her life, she was employed by General Telephone Company, CVS, Dollar General and Beulah Land Christian Academy, where she retired. Dianne was a member of the Women’s Sunday School Class, Matrons, Deaconess, Out Reach Ministry, Women’s Ministry and her pride and joy, Children’s Church. She transitioned from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on June 25, 2021, at Southeast Health, Dothan, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy L. Thomas and Roger Porter and Willis and Flozell Grant, two sisters, Fontella (Pig) James and Tina L. Facion, a brother, Ronnie Porter, a god daughter, Alecia (Spoogie) Massengill, favorite aunts, Alma Koonce and Mary Kirkland.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories a son, Marcus Daniels, Dothan, Alabama and two daughters, Quina Daniels (Roderick Reddock), Birmingham, Alabama and Demetrius (Tay) Thomas, Dothan, Alabama. four grandchildren: Zaria and Terrie Lockert, Te‘Ona Cummings and Ryan Lucas Reddock. Seven god children: Shadaiah Louis, Matthew and Christopher Hawkins, Xavier Galloway, Jakelyn Fields, Veratta Carter, and Rickari Jolley. She also leaves to mourn, her siblings: Harriet James, Katrina (Robert) Dantley, Kathy (James) Coleman, David (Deloris) Porter, Willis (Pearl) Grant, all of Dothan, Alabama, DeLisa (Robert Matthews) Thomas and Winfred (Ghuetta) James, both of San Antonio, Texas, Alex (Margo) Thomas, Wetumpka, Alabama, Steve James, Graceville, FL, Jerome (Faye) James, Columbia, SC, Janelle Ennis, Largo, FL. She is also survived by her loving and caring aunts: Mary Charles McCray, Frances (James) Walker and Anna Porter; uncles: Robert (Doretha) James and Nathaniel Sanders. Special friends: Orpha Galloway, Vivian Lewis, Pamela Hudgens, Darlene Williams, Brenda Green, Ann McGee, Mrs. Helen (Mama) Jackson, a very special friend, Theresa Daniels, affectionately known as her wife in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family.
