Mrs. Mattie Miller was born in Geneva County, Slocomb, AL on August 29, 1940 to the late Dora Mobley McGuire and Elzie Jones. She moved to Newark, New Jersey where she resided for over 20 years. In the late 80’s, she moved back home where she helped raise her nieces and nephews after the loss of their mom. She joined Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Rev. Murry where she served diligently, loyal, and faithful. On Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Southeast Health Hospital God sent his angel to escort one of his laboring servants home. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Annie L. Mobley and Catherine Mobley; three brothers: James M. Mobley, Larry D. Mobley, and James A. Mobley. She leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Rashawn Miller Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Tony Mobley Jr. of Slocomb, AL, and Nehemiah (Nicole) Mobley of Slocomb, AL; three daughters: Rashaunda Craig of Slocomb, AL, MaKeisha Mobley of Slocomb, AL, Jasmine (Quentin) Flowers of Slocomb, AL; grandchildren: Rashawn Miller Jr., Tyler Miller, Tavant Mobley, Tavir Mobley, Jakia Pearson, Antonis French Jr., Antwan French, Jaylen Nobles, Jayla Gamble, Jaleya Townsend, Ja’Kylen Granger, Ja’Tavion Adams, Kamarion Flowers, Ayonna Flowers, Hunter Flowers, Amora Mobley, Amiah Mobley, Andrew Fermin, Ezra Roy Jr., and Dylan French; five sisters: Patricia (Willie) Smith of Dothan, AL, Margaret Collins of Boston, MA, Lynette Durham of Dothan, AL, Elizabeth Jones of Oakland, CA, Doris Jones Williams of Oakland, CA, and one brother, Tony (Ann) Mobley of Enterprise, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She also leaves special friends to share her memories Felicia Varner, Juanna Bennett, Nici Watts, Elizabeth McLendon, Annie Cooper, Mary Riley, Delois Debose, Shirley Smith, Brenda Mitchell, John Wright, Annie Pearl Craig, Adrian Carson, Jeanette Davis and Gladys Stephens.
