Ollie Marie Freeman born September 19, 1973 in Donaldsonville, GA to Mary and the late Raymond Freeman Jr. Ollie developed love and strong faith in God early in life. She became an active member of St John Missionary Baptist Church where her passion for singing began.
Ollie earned her diploma from Ashford High School in 1992. She furthered her education at Alabama State University. There she became a Mighty Marching Hornet, a physical therapy trainer for the men’s basketball & football team, and a certified life guard. Ollie completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Recreational Therapy at ASU in 1997.
In 2007, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Troy State. She worked as a Juvenile Counselor at Dove Vocational Academy. Ollie ended her career as a Rehabilitation Counselor at Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Marianna, FL. She was an excellent counselor, and was loved by all her clients and co-workers.
Ollie dedicated her life to several passions. First, were her two daughters Ebonie and Shykeila Freeman. She made sure that her daughters knew they were loved. Ollie also loved being a member of NCC and the NCC choir. Her love for singing also shined in her sorority Delta Sigma Theta earning her the line name “Solid Gold”.
Ollie fought hard to acquire knowledge on her rare lung disease “Lymphangioleiomyomatosis”. She studied, researched, and traveled to gain this knowledge. On November 5, 2018, Ollie underwent a double lung transplant. She fought hard, and on January 15, 2020 God answered her with “Well Done Thou Good and Faithful Servant”.
Ollie leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her mother, Mary H.
