Ruby Lee Hartmon

Mrs. Ruby Lee Hartmon 91, passed away November 5, 2013. Funeral service will be Saturday November 9, 2013 at Unity Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rick Graham officiating. Interment will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.      Visitation will be Friday November 8, 2013 at Unity Funeral Home from 5-7 P.M.     Ruby was born on February 19, 1922 in Dale County, AL to the late Tom and Zadie Blue. Ruby loved singing, gardening, fishing, and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, Shorterville, AL. In addition to parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband James Hartmon, sons: James (Alfred) Thornton and Lester R. Thornton; daughters: Willie Ruth  Calhoun, Ella Jean Atkins and granddaughter Jacquline C. Minnigan.      Ruby leaves to cherish her memories a devoted son Jerry Thornton (Eunice); daughter-in-law: Jane Thornton; step children: Alice Hartmon and Jimmy Hartmon; grandchildren: Angela McDonald (Rueben), Ashley Roberts (Sedrick), Charles Knight (Jerlene), Phyliss Morrow (Cliff), James T. Thornton, Tony Thornton, Willie F. Thornton, Raymond Calhoun, Linda Atkins, Harold Atkins, LaTisha Thornton, Lamont Thornton, and Carla Sampson; twenty-two great grands, two great great grands and a host of cousins and friends.
