Versie Lee Spikes

On Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 10:50 A.M. the Lord called another servant home to glory to get her reward. Sis Versie Lee Payne Spikes was born April 13, 1927 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Joseph and Georgianna Waters Payne. She was a resident of Alabama most of her life.

She joined the Macedonia Church at an early age and served faithfully until her death. She attended the school system in Houston County, Alabama.

She met and married the late Lee Spikes Sr. and to this union five children were born.

She was preceded in death by four children: Evvie Spikes Long, Raymond Spikes, Lee Spikes Jr. and Henry Spikes; two siblings: Dorothy Payne Rollins and Versie Mae Payne Rollins.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Dr. Wilma (Bishop Junior) Carroll of Columbia, AL; four grandchildren: Jackie Long of New Jersey, Lee Spikes III of South Carolina, Maurice Carroll of Alabama and Marcus Carroll of Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends .
