Obituary
Willie Edward Helms was born August 2, 1955 in Houston County, AL to the late Annie Lou Helms and Otis Helms. Willie Helms affectionately known as “BROWN MAN” graduated from Houston County High School. He spent his entire life in the wiregrass area. He accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated his life to Christ as his personal savior later in life.
Brown Man loved his children. He love bingo, he adored his grandchildren and was a major Alabama fan “Roll Tide”. He worked as a farmer for 15 years. He drove trucks at Crell Paper Supply, Mayer Electric and later retired from Dairy Fresh.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents Annie Lou and Otis Helms; two brothers: Willie R. Walker and Robert Walker.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Gloria Jean Harris Helms of Dothan, AL; two daughters: Latoya Helms Brown of Dothan, AL and Nikki Helms (Steven) Durry of Dothan, AL; two sons: Christopher Helms of Dothan, AL and Jeremy (LaShaydra) Critten of Dothan, AL; four grandchildren: LaKesia, Stevonte, JonTavious, and Jeremiah; five sisters: Mary Carrol, Sylvia Robison, Mary Walker Harvey, Janice Stroud and Betty Walker; seven brothers: Robert Earl (Jimmie) Helms, James A (Cynthia) Helms, Earnest Helms, Bobby Walker, Willie Jane Walker, Ray Charles Robinson and Johnnie Earl Walker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
